Albert Noone of Crossna Dramatic Society, together with the cast of ‘Johnnie’ makes a presentation of €400 to Louise Moran of Ardcarne Basketball Club. The Basketball Club has numerous teams from Under 12s to adults, involved in both Shannonside Leagues and the Community Games. A donation of €500 was also given from Crossna Dramatic Society to the Ardcarne Defibrillator Committee; this group has to date purchased nine defibrillators for the Ardcarne Parish Area. ‘Johnnie’, is a comedy in three acts by PG O’Dea, is the latest offering from Crossna Dramatic Society. Set in rural Ireland in 1953, ‘Johnnie’ is a story of love, intrigue, busted buttons and the envy of a legacy. The play will be performed in Cleen Community Centre, Knockvicar, on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th April starting at 9 pm, doors open at 8.30 pm, tickets €10.
