On the 3rd of May, a ‘social distancing’ (virtual) table quiz night was hosted by Kilteevan woman, Barbara Gilleran.
Thirty-five teams from across the globe competed for a place on the podium. Roscommon natives connected from the UK and US, as well as people from Ireland, Canada, Australia and the UAE.
A total of €2,000 was raised. These funds will be divided between Croi, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Alone (the latter provides support for elderly people who are feeling isolated). Alone recently revealed their helpline is currently fielding 1,100 calls per day.
Barbara’s employer, Coupa Software, will contribute $500 to this fundraising event. Barbara says “Go raibh mile maith agat to all who supported and gave so generously”.
