The 11th Annual 10k Sponsored walk in aid of GOAL took place at Ballintubber, Castlrea, Co. Roscommon on St. Stephen’s Day last organised by John Boyle and his committee. The money raised is been used to build 5 schools in Mutumo, Kenya. The organisers pushed really hard to make it a record both in terms of the numbers taking part and the amount of money raised. GOAL is delighted to say that a record crowd of over 300 people took part and raised €53,027.19 for the people and children in Mutumo, Kenya. The cheque presentation by John Boyle organiser of the Ballintubber walk took place on Tuesday evening 11th of March 2008 in Kenny’s Lounge, Ballintubber to Maura Lennon of GOAL. A great night of thanksgiving and celebration took place in Kenny’s Lounge.
