Ballinasloe and Dysart in eight-goal thriller

Local soccer round-up compiled by Dave Dibble Ruby Oil Premier Division   Ballinasloe Town 4 Dysart 4 Ballinasloe Town drew 4-4 with Dysart. Ballinasloe were 2-0 up with half-time thanks to goals from Mark Duffy and Kevin Kenny.    However Dysart drew level with goals from James Coyne and Niall Canbett.    The Ballinaloe Town took the lead again with a goal by Brian Cleary but Dysart responded with a second goal from Niall.    Darren Concannon thought when  he had scored the 4 th goal that the town had earned all three point, however the newly-promoted side had other ideas as in the dying minutes Damien Miscoll scored to earn a hard-fought point for Dysart.   Next game for Ballinaloe Town is in the Connacht Senior Cup at home to Castlebar Celtic. K.O. 7.30 pm. Glen Celtic 3 Castlerea Celtic 4 In this local derby Glen Celtic lost 3-4 to Castlerea Celtic. David Fitzpatrick, Damien Webb, Derek Mulhall and S. Henehan scored for Castlerea Celtic.   Castlerea Celtic now remains one point behind Ballinasloe Town at the top of the table.   Up next for Glen Celtic is Moore United away while Castlerea Celtic play Ballymoe at home. Shiven Rovers 2 Moore United 0 Newly-promoted Shiven Rovers continue their good start to the league by beating the out-of-form Moore Utd. 2-0.    A fine header by John Hannon gave the home side the lead in the first half and a goal by Padraig Fallon in the second secured all three point for Shiven.    Moore United now remain at the bottom of the table with two points.  This weekend it’s Shiven Rovers away to Skyvalley Rovers while Moore United take on Glen Celtic. Ballymoe 3 Cloofad United 0 Cloonfad United suffered their first defeat of the season away to Ballymoe F.C. Goals by Cathal Claffey, Padraig Fallon and Ger McDonnell gave the home side a 3-0 win and more importantly three points and their first win of the season   This weekend Ballymoe are away to Castlerea Celtic while Cloonfad United play Ballinaloe Town at home. Skyvalley Rovers 1 Kilkerrin United 0 Skyvalley Rovers beat Kilkerrin Utd. 1-0 win at home.    Gerard Caulfield who recently moved from Moore United to play with Skyvalley scored from a header at the back post to give Skyvalley Rovers all three points.    Skyvalley also had two one-on-one chances with the Kilkerrin ‘keeper but failed to score.    Skyvalley now continue their six- match unbeaten run.   This week it’s Skyvalley at home to Shiven Rovers. Nissan Athlone Division 1   Ballinasloe Town and Lough Harps shared the points with a 2-2 draw.    Wayne Coyne scored twice for the town while Kevin Gallagher and Damien Hurley scored for Lough Harps.  Other results Ericssons Athlone 0-2 Ahascragh Utd.  Manor Utd v St. Johns Athletic was postponed. Bear an Raille Division 2b Ballinagare beat Glen Celtic 4-1.  John Nolan scored a hat-trick for the home side and a fourth was added by Cathal Creggs.   C.P. Ajax had a convincing 6-0 win over Shiven Rovers.    Lisnamult Celtic 2-2 Loughglynn. Ednielson gave Lisnamult the lead,  however two goals from Chris Conlon gave Loughglynn the lead. A last-minute goal by Dieda for Lisnamult resulted in the points been shared.    Roscommon Town had a convincing 9-0 win over Skyvalley Rovers.    A hat-trick from Paul O’Gara and two goals by David Flynn and Frank Noone accounted for most of the goals.     Cloonfad United  lost 1-0 to Laurencetown.  Casey Ford Division 3 Cam Celtic were beaten at home by K.C Celtic (3-2). Serail Healy scored for Cam and Declan Ryan scored for K.C. to leave the score 1-1 at half-time. However goals from Barry O’Shea and James Murphy for K.C. gave the away side a 3-1 lead.  Cathal Daly pulled one back for Cam but it was too late   Castlerea were beaten 1-0 by Rahara Rovers.    St. Johns won 3-0 at home to Ballymoe.
