Following on from the recent closure of Dawn Meats in Ballaghaderreen calls were made for the setting up of a task force in the area to find replacement employment and assist in the future economic development of Ballaghaderreen. Over the last number of weeks consultative meetings have taken place involving the County Enterprise Board, local businesses, clubs, organisations, public representatives and the general public. It has been proposed that a general meeting of all the aforementioned groups will take place to finalise the establishment of such a task force on Wednesday, 26 th March at 8.00 pm in Durkin’s Bar and Restaurant, The Square, Ballaghaderreen. Anyone interested in the future development of the town are urged to attend this significant meeting.
