Ballaghaderreen drugs bust takes the biscuit!

Revenue and Gardaí last Thursday seized cocaine worth €35,000 in a package containing biscuits and coffee at a residential address in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, (see photograph on right).

The seizure came following a joint operation involving Revenue, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Longford/Roscommon Divisional Drugs Unit.

The package, which contained approximately 500g of the drug, had originated in Chile.

A non-national man in his forties was arrested by Gardaí and detained at Castlerea Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996. Investigations are ongoing.
