Three local SuperValu stores were recently awarded National Hygiene and Food Safety certificates. Cahill’s SuperValu, Castlerea, Fleming’s SuperValu, Roscommon, and Kelly’s SuperValu, Boyle, received their awards at a recent ceremony in Dublin. The National Hygiene programme, devised by Excellence Ireland Quality Association provides independent verification of the highest standards of hygiene and food safety in the food sector. The SuperValu group spends €6 million annually on an integrated approach to food safety and quality assurance and invests over half a million euro, each year, in store hygiene systems.
