Placed in the extraordinary position of having to play a Connacht Club Championship match within 24 hours of winning a county final, Athleague gallantly did so on Monday last! The excitement was still in the air following their second county senior title in a row as Athleague were plunged back into action. David Kelly’s men met St. Josephs of Sligo and recorded a comfortable victory, with Shane McGeeney and Tom Reddington principal scorers. In a match played in Athleague, the new County Roscommon champions won by 4-15 to 2-5.
