Traditional Fair Day on Monday

Horse Fair, Dog Show, Pony Jumping, Family Fun Day, Market Stalls…and more

The Fair of Athleague will take place on Bank Holiday Monday next (6th of June) from 11 am to 4 pm. Last year the Fair Day fell victim to the weather and many organised events had to be cancelled but this year the weather is expected to be excellent, therefore the committee have planned an array of events in what will be an entertaining family fun day with competitions for horses, ponies and dogs.

The traditional horse fair is expected to attract over 200 horses and is growing from strength to strength every year. An extra field is available this year for both horses and an estimated 30 market stalls, bouncing castle, walking on water balls, ice-cream van, tea/ coffee stand, together with many novelty events for all to enjoy.  Anyone wishing to rent a stall area in the designated field is asked to contact Henry on 087-7541730 or Ivan on 086-8985013 by 12 pm on Saturday, 4th of June at the latest. Any stall not booked will not be permitted on the Monday.

The dog show is attracting significant interest with excellent prize-money/rosettes for many categories including best fancy dressed dog and best golden oldie dog.

For all information on the dog show contact Sue on 086-3841115. For all information on the Horse Fair & Pony Jumping contact Alan on 087-2811050.
