Roscommon Arts Centre is delighted to launch the 2018 theatre season with the hilarious ‘Looking Deadly’ on Friday, January 19th at 8 pm. Written and performed by Niamh McGrath and Keith Singleton and directed by Amy Conroy, Looking Deadly tells the story of two small town funeral directors competing for business over the course of a three day Wake.
Our heroes are rooted in tradition and caring for those left behind, while their rivals run a franchise and all who stand in their way, out of business. Experience the many traditions and meet numerous poignant and hilarious characters present over the course of an Irish Wake, while giving a surprising insight into the sometimes mysterious world of the funeral director.
Looking Deadly was written and first performed at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2016 as part of the Show in a Bag initiative run by Fishamble: The New Play Company and the Irish Theatre Institute. Since then, it has toured extensively across the island of Ireland to full houses and standing ovations.
