Applications reopen for farmer producer organisation support

Applications have reopened for a scheme supporting the establishment of farmer producer organisations.

The Early-Stage Support for Producer Organisations Scheme provides eligible organisations with funding towards administrative costs during their first three years following recognition.

Support of up to €10,000 a year is available for eligible expenses, including personnel and relevant technology.

A separate grant of up to €3,000 is available to qualified facilitators providing legal and business advice on forming an organisation and submitting an application.

The scheme covers the beef, sheep, milk, potato, tillage, amenity plant, and fruit and vegetable sectors.

Producer organisations allow farmers to work collectively, including on marketing and strengthening their position in the supply chain.

The current application window closes on November 11, 2026. Applicants should consult the Department of Agriculture’s terms and conditions, as membership and other eligibility requirements apply.

Application forms and guidance are available on gov.ie. Queries can be directed to PO@agriculture.gov.ie.
