Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon County Darts League Semi Finals First Leg results, Friday 15th of February. McDermott’s, Ballinaheglish 4 Murray’s Knockcroghery 3 In the first match, Paul Carton beat David Concannon 3-2, but it could easily have gone the other way. Concannon broke the throw in leg 3, to lead 2-1, but Carton hit back to get the win. In the second game, Mick Egan beat Joe Elliffe 3-1, to give Murray’s a 2-0 lead. There were some good scores, but no real consistency from either player. In game 3, Thomas Concannon beat Jimmy Reilly 3-2 in a cracker of a game, to get McDermott’s on the scoreboard. At 2-2, it seemed Reilly was set to win after opening leg 5 with three scores of 100, but he got bogged down and Concannon got a vital win for the home team. Concannon scored the only 180 of the night in this game, and a 77 outshot from him, and an 84 outshot from Reilly, were the highest on the night. In game 4, Andy Fallon beat Pat Byrne 3-2 to level the match at 2-2. It was another tight game, but Fallon threw steadier darts in the last leg. Mark Finneran beat Scobie Connaughton 3-1 in game 5, to give McDermott’s the lead on the night. Finneran’s better finishing proved the difference in this game. Willie Doyle beat Luke Concannon 3-0 in game 6, to level the match at 3-3 on the night. Doyle gave his best performance of his short season, and ran out a deserved winner. Gary Concannon then beat Tony Lyons 3-1 in game 7, to give McDermott’s the win on the night. Concannon gave a good performance and was a deserved winner. This semi-final is finely balanced now, with the return match in Murray’s next Friday looking as though it will go down to the wire. Denis Coffey and Jimmy Finn had 3-0 win over Matt Scally and Padraig Finan to give the Ballagh men a 4-2 lead.
