Mulryan Construction IFC Round 3 – Group A
Kilbride v St Dominic’s on Saturday in Kilbride at 5.30 pm: Kilbride are desperate for a win having lost their opening two games. Dominic’s had a dramatic win against Oran and come into the game boosted by that great win.
Kilbride will be depending on Conor Devaney but Dominic’s look too strong overall. Prediction: St. Dominic’s
Kilmore v Fuerty on Saturday in Kilmore at 7.15 pm: Fuerty have been very impressive in their two games so far but they will be tested against a Kilmore team who are very hard to beat at home regardless of the opposition. There won’t be a lot in it either way but Kilmore might just have the edge. Prediction: Kilmore
Oran v Tulsk on Saturday in Rockfield at 7 pm: Definitely the game of the weekend in the IFC. Oran were so impressive in round one against Kilmore but they were brought down to earth with a bang against St. Dominic’s. Tulsk were the pre-championship favourites but they were well beaten by Fuerty. This is a toss up between two good teams and the result will depend on the strength of the teams on the night. I’m taking the easy option here. Prediction: A draw
St. Aidan’s v St. Michael’s on Saturday in Castlerea at 7 pm: Aidan’s scored their first championship win in a couple of years when they beat St. Barry’s in round two and while they have faded in the past few seasons, they should be too strong for a Michael’s side who could be heading for a relegation scrap. Prediction: St. Aidan’s
Éire Óg v Shannon Gaels on Sunday in Enfield at 2 pm: Éire Óg have plenty of firepower up front and that could be decisive. They are unbeaten with a win and a draw so far and they face a Shannon Gaels side finding their feet in the intermediate championship, having lost to Clann na nGael and beaten St. Michael’s. Éire Óg should win this clash. Prediction: Éire Óg
Clann na nGael v St. Barry’s on Sunday in Ballyleague at 2 pm: Barry’s are struggling this year and Clann are always very competitive at this level and they should be good enough to record their second win of the competition. Prediction: Clann na nGael.
