A real Pandora’s Box at Roscommon Arts Centre!

This season Roscommon Arts centre is delighted to announce a jam-packed programme of entertainment for younger members of our community which runs right through from September, when our new workshop programme commences and continues into December when we bring a new adaptation of the magical story of The Children of Lir to the stage as part of our Christmas programme.    We’re delighted to announce that Catherine Simon will be back with her weekly drama classes for 4-12 year olds from Thursday 20th September. Catherine, who is the Director of Roscommon Youth Theatre,  has been working at the arts centre for the last twelve months where she has hosted a number of drama camps, all of which have been hugely popular with both kids and parents.    Her drama classes are back by popular demand and in these weekly sessions, which take place every Thursday after school, kids can experience the magic of drama through games, exercises and learn acting techniques, all of which are designed to develop self confidence and social skills in young people. Classes for 4-7 year olds run from 3.30 pm-4.30 pm and for 8-12 year olds from 4.30 pm-5.30 pm.   Music Teacher Rachel Hardiman will also be at the arts centre this season for The Sound of Music, a new weekly music appreciation class aimed at 5-8 year olds which will provide little ones with a foundation in music appreciation, theory and practice. The classes will commence on Wednesday 19th September from 4 pm-5 pm and continue weekly until Wednesday 24th October.   Full information on all events is contained in our new events brochure and all shows and workshops are now open for booking, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to place a booking or require further information on 090 66 25 824.
