Jacinta’s Smile is organising a ‘3 Peak Challenge’ fundraiser, taking place on the 11th of June in Donegal. The challenge involves climbing a total of three mountains over the course of the day, covering a total distance of 15km and a 1200 metre climb (4000 ft.) of uphill walking.
Muckish will be the first hike, where upon completion, participants will break for lunch before taking on Mackoght and Errigal in one loop. This guided climb will raise vital funds for our charity, and includes bus transport, lunch, tea/coffee/water and first aid support.
Jacinta’s Smile, operating under the umbrella of Vita House Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Roscommon, aims to provide nationwide supports to children that have been bereaved by the loss of a sibling. The founders have lost three siblings, in both childhood and young adulthood, and are acutely aware that there is very little recognition or mental health supports available nationally for children who experience the death of a sibling.
Jacinta’s Smile’s mission is to raise awareness about sibling bereavement and create tailored support services for bereaved children so they can constructively deal with their grief, lessen feelings of isolation and come away feeling secure and focused on their own future.
