10th Saddlers Inn Tractor Drive in aid of brave Dylan Travers

On January 1st, 2022, The Saddlers Inn Tractor Drive will celebrate its tenth anniversary. The Kneale family home was devastated by a fire in November 2011 and in a bid to help and raise funds for the family The Saddlers Inn organised and hosted its first Tractor Drive in 2012. It was a huge success and enjoyed by all so the Tractor Drive became an annual event since then.

From nine drives so far, organisers have raised over €26,000 for local families and national charities. 619 tractors have registered for the drives and €14,000 of the money raised has helped four local families and for that, organisers thank all those who have taken part, donated and contributed in any way over the years.

On January 1st, 2022, you are asked to  come and take part in the annual Tractor Drive in aid of a very special boy. Dylan Travers is three-year-old from Keshcarrigan, Co. Leitrim and was recently diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare childhood cancer affecting four in one million.

Dylan is the son of Sophia and Andrew Travers, twin brother of Summer and baby brother of Mia and is currently receiving chemotherapy in Crumlin Children’s Hospital. Once Dylan finishes his chemotherapy he will travel abroad to receive further treatment. The family of Sophia and Andrew have set up a Gofundme page to assist them with their expenses as Dylan receives his treatment, it is called ‘Our baby Dylan on his cancer journey’. Sophia, Dylan’s mother, has an Instagram page called Dylans_Journey_, give it a follow as she documents Dylan’s treatment and progress.

Registration of tractors will commence at 12 pm on Saturday, January 1st with the drive leaving from The Saddlers Inn, Kingsland, Boyle, Co. Roscommon (F52HV07) at 1 pm, and €20 entry fee per tractor.

Organisers would love to see a large turnout of tractors on the day and ask everyone who attends to adhere to the Government’s health advice in relation to Covid 19.
