A huge crowd witnessed the ‘star lot’ of the day – the former St. Mary’s Convent at Friars Hill, Ballaghaderreen – opening proceedings. Bidding opened at €30,000 and was eventually knocked down to a client from Galway for the figure of €75,000.

Ten-bedroomed property located at The Square, Charlestown, Co. Mayo. Sold for €33,000.
Shop premises located at Main Street, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. Sold for €50,000.
Ten-bedroomed property at James Street, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo – sold for €42,000.
Twenty-three-bedroomed property at James Street, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo – sold for €39,000.
David Diffley, who conducted the auction, reported: “We experienced very strong interest in all lots pre-auction and witnessed very competitive bidding on the auction floor. All properties well exceeded their reserves and I am pleased to say that we had a 100% success rate. We now require similar properties for the extensive list of underbidders who registered for the auction.”
