€1,334,936 is to be provided for the construction of eight new social homes in Co. Roscommon under the Rebuilding Ireland programme. The decision was announced by Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, Eoghan Murphy. The two-bedroomed homes will be located at Lisroyne, Strokestown.
Welcoming the news, Senator Maura Hopkins said: “Stage 1 approval for a capital construction project was issued to Roscommon County Council on March 29th. know that officials have been working closely with the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government over the past number of months to achieve this outcome”.
Senator Hopkins continued: “I know that there is a strong demand for social and affordable housing across this region. This funding is additional to recent funds made available for 18 new social homes in Ballyleague”.
